The reigning NWSL Champions aren’t just preparing for a new season—they are preparing to conquer the world. As NJ/NY Gotham FC settles into their January preseason camp in Sotogrande, Spain, the club has made it clear that their sights are set on the inaugural FIFA Women’s Champions Cup in London.
To bolster the squad, Gotham has officially exercised recall options on two of their brightest young talents. Princess Ademiluyi, the 19-year-old English forward signed from West Ham, and Stella Nyamekye, the 20-year-old Ghanaian midfielder, have both been summoned back from their loan spells at Fort Lauderdale United FC.
The “recall” signals Gotham’s intent to bring their full tactical arsenal to the Gtech Community Stadium on January 28, where they will face Brazilian titans Corinthians in the semifinals.
The “New Gun” in Camp: Kat Jordan
While the veterans and loanees report for duty, a fresh face is looking to make her mark under the Spanish sun. Kat Jordan, a standout graduate student from Santa Clara University (and formerly Columbia), has joined the team as a non-roster invitee.
Jordan, who was the 2024 WCC co-Midfielder of the Year, brings a versatile defensive-midfield profile to the camp. For Jordan, this isn’t just a tryout; it’s a high-stakes audition alongside World Cup winners and European stars like Ann-Katrin Berger and Jess Carter.
Mission: London
For Gotham FC, 2026 is about more than just defending their domestic title. By winning the Concacaf W Champions Cup and the NWSL Championship last year, they earned the right to represent North America on the global stage. With reinforcements returning and new talent being tested, the “Champs” are officially loading up for history.
