New York Sirens Take Down Toronto Sceptres in Overtime

Newark, NJ- The New York Sirens took down the Toronto Sceptres in overtime thanks to the stellar performance of Corrine Schroeder who made 28 saves including a big time 3 v 0 save in overtime just moments before the Sirens Jessie Eldridge netted the game winner.

The Sirens who started the season off red hot, have been struggling as of late and the Ottawa Charge may have given the league the insider information on how to slow down Greg Fargo and his Sirens. Schroeder has now stolen two games for the Sirens to prevent a long losing streak and keep the team alive for a playoff chance a quarter of the way through the season. She has been perfect against the last 54 shots she hasfaced and solidly holding the lead for shutouts this season with 2. She is the only tendy this season who has a back to back shutout.

Jessie Eldridge has come alive as of late on offense to help teammates Alex Carpenter and rookie super star Sarah Fillier out. Jessie (3) and Sarah (6) connected in overtime to get the dramatic game winner after a huge Schroeder save on the other end. Fillier caught the Sceptres making a bad line change and Eldridge placed a perfect shot over Campbell’s blocker side shoulder for the win.

The Sirens have one more home game against the Minnesota Frost on Wednesday before going on a three game road trip to face the Ottawa Charge, Toronto Sceptres and Boston Fleet. Two of those teams have given the Sirens defeats this season and made them struggle to get anything started.
