On Saturday June 25th, Paisley Athletic earned their fourth draw of the season against Euro New York. Led by captain Mackenzie Meixner, Paisley had a dominant performance over the Brooklyn side, but could not get their dangerous looks to break the scoreless match.

Quick to go forward after the first whistle, Paisley found it easy to create and find space with players such as Kennedi Cotter, Lily Camacho, and Kylie Pendergast making themselves known with several passes into the Euro box and shots on goal within the first ten minutes.

Camacho was also diligent in getting back to help the midfield, winning duels, and cleaning up balls behind Kyah Le and Margarett Lee. Cotter’s confidence shined in the final third with the ability to take shots outside the box and patience to build the offensive transition.

While FA Euro had some great offensive moments on both flanks, great defensive organization from Paisley and point-blank stops by goalkeeper Odaliana Gomez made it hard for them to break through.

Next up for Paisley

Paisley would look to earn three points on Wednesday, June 28th against the Long Island Rough Riders in Uniondale, New York. The team would lose 5-0, their fifth loss of the season.

Paisley took on Morris Elite SC at Drew University Saturday, July 1st where the team lost 7-0 picking up the sixth loss of the season.

With these results, Paisley finishes in sixth place in the USL-W Metropolitan Division standings and misses out on a playoff spot.
